Homeplug / BPL???

I did a lot of research for a project a while back, but now I'm looking for more specific information. Does anyone know any good brands, or have any other recommendations regarding this??? If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, go here: Homeplug Flash Presentation

There is No good Brand.

Netgear and D-Link have some basic stuff.

Considering the price and what it can do, it is very unpopular, and used as a solution of last resort.

The biggest problem I have with them (besides the frickin' outrageous price :|) is the DES encryption. DES is bad. Might not be a consideration in a house (but if I lived in a house I'd have cat5 throughout), but in an apartment it definitely is.

Well, I'm renting a room from a guy, so I'm looking for a non-invasive way of getting broadband to my computer. I don't really like the wirelss I have right now, and there is no easy way to run CAT-5 from my computer to the router. Well, drilling some holes in the floor would be easy, but he probably wouldn't like that . I saw some sets of 2 plugs on newegg for $50 and $70 each. I think the $50 set was iogear, and the $70 one was netgear. Also, it can be a lot of work to effectively wire a house with CAT-5. Putting 2 plugs in the wall is much easier

For that price they are probably the 14mbit models. 85mbit is quite a bit more expensive (at least at best buy).

Then declair it a a "Solution of Last Resort", and buy one in good health.
