Homepage in IE keeps going back...

It keeps going back to a spyware/malware page that I cleaned up tonight. Any tips so that I can set it back to whatever I want?

If it keeps going back, doesn't that ring a bell that it's not been cleaned up properly? Use the likes of hijack this and maybe a process viewer to get rid of the unwanted spyware. Microsoft's option is also not that bad either....

Try to disable system restore before cleaning up your computer.

start > setting > control panel > system > system restore > turn off system restore on all driver.

then run the clean up again. Better yet if you do it during safe mode.

i just formatted my hard drive. i'm sure by the time i would have figured out how to get rid of it i could have formatted my drive three times.

What spyware program were you running?

How exactly did you clean your pc originally? One scan? Scanning each user account?
