There's this company selling what's basically stainless steel bowl for $50 to the BBQ crowd and claiming it's the best thing since slice bread for cooking chicken. They are correct it's the best way to cook chicken on the grill but $50 for small piece of stainless steel metal is pretty expensive. So I bought stainless steel mixing bowl and cut out the metal bottom and made the same thing for like $5. It worked really well but you can get the same result by using $15 Weber charcoal basket. That's what I was using before I made this Vortex and it cooks exactly the same. So there's no reason to pay and buy the $50 Vortex unless you like paying extra for marketing.
