Homemade live drive?

Does anyone out there know of any guides to making a homemade live drive? Either that of a place that sells homemade ones?

For you guys that dont know what a live drive is, they are those panels that come from SB Live Plantum cards in which you install on the front of your computer with headphone jacks and other nifty things.

Jeez... thinking about all those connections, I think that would be almost impossible wouldn't it? Unless you do a lot of soldering and know where connections go... the IR that ships with the Platinum 5.1, has mad connections. I guess getting the line out and mic in wouldn't be too bad, but for the optical to work, you'd need some digital processor converter to optical signal... and then comes the SPDIF and the Midi in and out... lastly that IR for your remote... I mean, you have to connect all that together, and then get the signals to go through that single cable they use to connect the live drive to the sound card... that'd be sick... of course if someone has the skills to do it, I guess it could be done, but it would still take mad long. Just go out and buy it would be my recommendation...
