Homemade Heatsink

Has anyone gone to a machine shop with a chunk of aluminum and had them make a heatsink for you? I was thinking of giving it a shot. Someone I was talking to said he was getting great results. Any thoughts?

i think design of the heatsink is more important than the fan (taisol cgk for example) so if you're gonna mkae your own, design it good 🙂

it wouldnt be cost effective i think too because your first design probably wont turn out right (design flaw or poor performance) so you'd hafta do it over and over 🙂 well if it was me anyway 🙂
