KELOWNA/CKNW(AM980) - A Kelowna drug dealer has received a two month sentence to be served at home.

The problem is he doesn't have one.

19-year old Michael Hein pleaded guilty this week to possession of crystal meth and hashish for trafficking purposes.

It's unclear how Hein will serve his two-month conditional sentence, given his claims to be homeless.

The Crown had asked for actual jail time on the drug conviction, but Provincial Court Judge Judith Gedye sentenced him to two months' house arrest, plus six months' probation and fines.

Hein made the news last month when he spent three days in police custody, awaiting a hearing on a bylaw charge of failing to wear a bicycle helmet. He was arrested on the drug charge just hours after he was released.

So maybe he can designate a big refridgerator box as his home and just move the box around...not like he has a permanent address.

I'm sure they expect him to take up residence in a shelter or simply keep his nose clean(no pun intended). They better crack down hard on Crystal Meth though while it's in it's infancy.

Yeah, if they gave him jail time like they would have in the US, Canada's drug problems would surely go away, just like they have in the US.

It wouldn't hurt to put a trafficker in jail, thats for damn sure. You rather have them walking the streets and go unjailed? Or would you rather have them shot?

Just imagine if he was caught in the US doing something really dangerous, like smoking pot... He'd get the chair, for sure.
