A cop spotter posing as a homeless person in West Plam Beach, FL with a sign that reads "dont run red lights" is cracking down on red-light runners issuing tickets for $183.50. The video states they get around 70 vehicles per hour, they got a school bus too :)

What will the cops think of next, oh yea..have no idea how to link directly to the video, sorry.

*comment about entrapment removed*

cnn law. Video is labeled as "Decoy cop stops traffic"

Abuse of power? What abuse is there? They're even giving you a warning!
Entrapment? They aren't coercing anyone to break the law.

Protest denied.

Beats having a camera write people $351 tickets for not coming to a complete stop when turning right on red when it's bloody odvious that there's nobody coming the other direction because cross traffic is making a left.

The OP obviously has NO idea what entrapment is.

Had the guy been holding a sign saying "I double dog dare you to run red lights" you MIGHT have a case for entrapment (because everyone knows no man can refuse a double dog dare, of course).

An example of entrapment:
A traffic cop directs you to go through a red light. A cop on the other side writes you a ticket for running the red light. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

LMAO @ people paying these tickets
Wish they'd do something like that here. People run lights all the time. I nearly got hit by someone doing that a few weeks back.

Maybe I haven't visited AT:eek:T in awhile, but 4 Lifer's and an Elite in the first seven posts has to be a record or something...

Anyway, while I'm sure some creative AT'ers can come up with some entrapment situations for vehicle drivers...I can't. People who run red lights torque me off, especially when they almost run into me when I'm driving on a green. I'm having trouble figuring out why this is a bad thing...

Is there really that big of a problem with red light running in Florida? 70 cars in an hour at a single intersection? I hardly ever see anyone run red lights here in California.

There was one time a few years ago where the light turned red, so I had plenty of time to slow down to a stop safely, giving the people behind me more than enough time to slow down as well without having to slam on the breaks. A guy behind me hit me because he assumed that I was going to turn on a red light without stopping first. He didn't hit me hard enough to damage the car, but my neck hurt for the rest of the day and my sunglasses flew off my face to the foot space on the passenger side.
