Hi All,
I just recently set up ATT Uverse internet with one of their wireless 2-wire gateways (naked, no phone). My desktop is connected via ethernet cable and my laptop wirelessly.
I have the homegroup set up correctly (I think) because I can access my one shared folder from my desktop on my laptop.
Vice versa, I have issues. Desktop homegroup does not show any other computer connected.
I can ping each computer from each other using ip address or name and it works fine but for some reason my laptop won't show up on my desktop's homegroup.
The desktop is where I created the homegroup IIRC and I have tried restarting, changing pw's, etc.
The windows firewall settings are the same on both computers, my only other AV is Avira (free) which I don't even see any firewall settings for. Network discovery/sharing, etc is on and both are set as "Home" networks.
Since I can ping, I don't think it is a firewall issue. However, the router also has a built-in fireall accessibly via browser but I don't see any setting that would help me.
Any one have any experience or suggestions for me? I'd appreciate it if you do.
