Very nice! Was the snow re-frozen fairly hard, or did you pack it and then cut it?

that kid is wearing a tshirt?

1) igloos are warm inside
2) kids are kids

HBD, you should take pictures of the outside so we know what it looks like. Definitely cool though :thumbsup;

Nice job! When I was a kid we used to do that too.

One time we built one with a chimney in the middle, and had a fire pit inside. Memories like that you never forget - good times :).

Used to do that every year when we were kids. We lined the floor with corragated cardboard and used candles for light and warmth (it is amazing how warm it would be inside the igloo when it was -10 or -20F).

It was a great place to hide-out and read comic books when I was supposed to be doing homework or shoveling snow off the driveway.

We had a small 12x12x8 plastic bin... like one you might use to hold dish water. We would pack snow into that to make the bricks... the snow was very heavy/wet and was very sticky.

Basically you spiral the row of bricks in a coiled shape and offset them into the middle a little each loop. Towards the top you start to angle them over. 3/4 of the way up it looked as if it woudl implode, but the structure was actually very sturdy. Only the last brick was ever at risk of falling, and usually even that was sturdy.

I've always wanted to build an igloo, and now I have. :D :beer;

:) Nice job! Contrast your igloo with Les Stroud's pathetic attempt at an igloo. You'd survive a couple weeks in that - I often think he's lucky to make it through the week.
