Homebrewer et al. Need reccomendations...

My wifes Grandmother kept some honey from my wife's father's bees for 20 years :Q

It's either mead or just throw it away. Any body have any mead recipes that they've used? Seems like there are a lot of variations.

1:4 honey to water ratio will give you a nice semi sweet mead of about 6-7% alcohol

you don't really need to boil the honey very long.

and you should probably add some yeast nutrients.

Make that DEFINITELY add some yeast nutrients. And make sure that you use water that's as perfect as it can be. Unlike beer, mead doesn't mask weak ingredients with other ingredients. If your water sucks your mead is going to suck. If your tap water has even the slightest mineral taste use bottled water.
