Homebrew wireless cable box-to-smart TV transmiiter?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm feeling really lazy, so before I start Googling, can someone tell me - yes or no, with even just a very brief explanation - whether it'd be possible to knock something together relatively easily with, say a Raspberry Pi 3, that could transmit a signal from a cable box to a smart TV* not very far away (~15' through what I think is not a heavy, load-bearing wall)?

I know there are existing, commercial HDMI transceivers, but they're expensive, and my use for one doesn't seem sufficient to me to warrant paying in the neighborhood of $200 for one. If such a thing isn't feasible, I'll just run a "temporary" cable until I get sick enough of it to pay real money to deal with it.

I mean, the only way to do is via IP (aka have a device that records the cable and then transcodes it across a wireless network to something like a Pi).

It's not what I originally asked about, but in place of a $200 generic HDMI transmitter/receiver set, it looks like this proprietary LG unit will do the trick with external power spliced in for the dongle. Reports about its range vary greatly (probably true for any similar transmitter, fwtw), but for < $15 shipped, it's worth trying since I only need it to reach about 15ft, albeit through a wall.

Seems to me that the best option would be to run cable to the other tv and get another cable box. Barring that, run an HDMI cable.
