Homebrew Report #260001

I'm in the middle of brewing beer for heathertre's upcoming wedding. Here is what I've got so far:

10 gallons of Kolsch

-this is an extract batch, minimashed 5 pounds of grain for the hell of it, and divided the batch into to 5 gallon buckets. I used White Labs Kolsch yeast on one, and Wyeast Kolsch yeast on the other. We'll see if there is a noticeable difference. The Wyeast did take off quicker.

5 gallons of IPA
- all-grain; 11 pounds of the stuff and ended up with a 1.060 OG beer that should be a nice hoppy 6.5% abv when its done. I used a new yeast on this one, its Saffalle's dry yeast that is reportedly very good and about 1/2 the cost of either Wyeast or White Labs.

I've got a couple of more to do yet, probably will do 10 gallons of an amber next week and my neighbor brewed up a Stout for the wedding today.

Got any recipes you care to share... I have made a few batches myself Sam Adams Summer Ale Clone, Oatmeal Brew and a few other dark ale's. I am looking for a good Heineken Clone or a something very hoppy to enjoy on my deck as the weather gets nicer.

It's really self inflicted, I want to brew, so I have to clean out the garage. There is a path cleared to the beer fridge though...

It starts tonight in fact, Cut up the old carpet into 3' sections for disposal, and that will clear up enough room to shift crap and clean\organize...

I did a cider (so no brewing) recently, and have been sipping that waiting for the weather to improve.

i just brewed yesterday. an IPA that wound up at 1.060 OG as well. weird. if you tell me you used Chinook, Amarillo, and Cascade hops, then you must be stalking me.

actually i used amarillo cascade and chinook hops.

seriously... i used fuggles, herbach (sp? - i grab the wrong package out of the case) and k goldings.
