"We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth's climate. The stakes are high for us and our children. Everyone should take part in the effort, and HOME has been conceived to take a message of mobilization out to every human being. For this purpose, HOME needs to be free. A patron, the PPR Group, made this possible. EuropaCorp, the distributor, also pledged not to make any profit because Home is a non-profit film. HOME has been made for you : share it! And act for the planet."

I might watch it tomorrow if I have time, but if it's a propaganda film I'm closing it instantly. Yes, humans are messing up environment but I don't want to see organizations and individuals creating and hijacking movements for their own monetary and political gain.

Basically - Humans are killing the planet.

"In 200,000 years on Earth, humanity has upset the balance of the planet, established by nearly four billion years of evolution. The price to pay is high, but it's too late to be a pessimist: humanity has barely ten years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of its spoliation of the Earth's riches and change its patterns of consumption.

More than a movie, HOME will be a major event all over the globe : for the first time ever, a film will be released on the same day in over 50 countries and on every format : movie theatres, TV, DVD and Internet."

Amazing video. If you care at all about nature or the planet or your child's future you should watch this.

I'm jsut starting it up now so I can't comment right away. However I will say that I certainly DO care about the future. however, some might argue that throwing trillions down the crapper (which would be the case if global warming isn't real) is just as big a threat to our future as global warming theoretically is. I would only say that people in general (even when they have completely different beliefs) are motivated by the same sorts of things. The only real difference is how they interpret the world around them. If you ask an oil executive why they do what they do they will likely say to ensure their kids future, not much different than asking your local hippie the same thing. If you go to a coal plant and ask them what they are doing they will say trying to make America great, same as they would if you went to a wind farm.

I would make one example of this. I want to ensure my kids (theoretical at this point) future, which is WHY I consider the earth to be a resource to be exploited by humans to the greatest extent possible. I would kill every single fluffy polar bear and every single cute little deer and every single majestic lion on this pant if it meant saving ONE human life PERIOD. The earth exists to service us, not the other way around.

If I don't watch this, does that mean I don't care about those things? Maybe I'm trying to conserve electricity by not watching, and using the time to earn money to help starving kids in Africa (I'm not, just saying hypothetically).

I wouldn't say i agree with everything stated in this film.

But i would say it's worth watching, especially until the very end.
