i lost 15lbs in about 6-8 months, and im holding steady at 178lbs. im 6 feet by the way.

you will hit a peak muscle size with this workout. i can do about 50-60 pull ups and i do this about 2-3 times a day 4-5 days a week.

and diet is definitely very important in the weight loss. i think the majority of the weight loss is from my diet, the workout is just to keep me motivated.

this routine is very tough. it takes a lot of will to stay motivated.

BS

second the BS.
I am in hella good shape and 20+ pull ups in one setting is pushing it for me, and I am only pulllng 150ish lbs. 50-60pull ups in one setting, 2-3sets a dayl, 4-5days a week, I don't think so.

Few guys can do 20 pull ups in one setting. Even fewer can hit 30 and f0ck me if you can hit 50-60 as that is ONE HELL OF A RANGE...if you can hit 50-60 your the f0cking man!

I said if it was in one set. 50-60 isnt too bad spread out during a day.

i actually just measured what i could do, 1st rep i did 44, and second i managed 38 with a 10 minute break. i think on a good day i can do 50 but i think 60 is pushing it.
you have to be aware, this is the only workout i do besides push ups. ive been doing this for over a year.

Still an amazing feat. How much do you weigh and how tall are you?

50-60 in one set is monsterious. Can you do a one arm pull up? You should be close with that number of reps.

i've ben doing pull ups for a few years now and I can only do about 11 good pullups, and maybe 5 more with poor form.

I could do 44 as well if you're doing what I think you're doing. Moving just enough to get your chin one inch above the bar and then drop one inch below the bar.

im 6 feet and 178lbs. if you consider one arm pull up with one arm on bar and the other arm on forearm, i can do a few. if you are talking about only one arm on bar, i cannot.

i am doing this for stamina, and not mass. i do this to keep my edge in dragonboating (paddling) and its a tough sport with tough competition in our area.

with this routine i was able to improve my ergometer score from 540 meters before training to 611 meter in 3 minutes with just pull-ups and push ups. an ergometer is a rowing machine but paddlers replace the handle to mimic paddling motion. paddling is tougher on the arms than rowing.

Past 12reps is for stamina in most exercises.

A one arm pull up is hanging from one arm and the other arm holding nothing. Holding your forearm doesn't count :p

well apparently, this can be a good workout. reggae must have huge arms and tiny legs...I'm 6'2" 225 and consider myself in pretty good shape. I could go aout and run 6+ miles at an 8 min/mile pace. Dont do squats, but I can go into a gym and do the whole stack of wieghts on any leg machine. I can do about 4 pullups in a set though. maybe i should drop some weight.

To the OP;

I have done a 'program' of 300 pushups per day (in sets), 30 pull-ups, 30 chin-ups, 30 dips, 120 full situps everyday (and i mean everyday, if I miss a day i do double the next day) for nearly 3 years and itll definitely give you a good workout. What I have noticed is that rather than giving tons of build, it makes you stronger. Also after a while of doing standard pushups try some other forms (do some with your legs raised, make a diamond with your hands, put your hands on chairs).

Navy SEALs do something like 400 situps/pushups, 300 pullups, 6 mi. swimming, 18 mi. running per day. Not to mention Hell Week :Q.

How much you bench? :)

It has always been my experience that when you get proper form in a certain exercise you will always be able to do better; if you dont do pull-ups often the motion may be akward. For example I am terrible at benching and cant put up much weight compared to my friends, but I am still stronger than them.

Hmm strange. A person that can do proper 30 pull ups (not chinups) should be able to do at least 1 full 1arm pull up. My brother can do 25pullups and he can do 1arm pullup.

Leg machine isn't that hard. Try to front squat with your bodyweight on the bar and if you can go all the way down that is good. If you can get 1.5xbw+ that is a solid number. Half squats don't count :p

People are built different and are more suited to some stuff then others.

4 pull isn't that great but you run a hell of a lot better then me :p. I'm much better at sprinting, jumping and general explosive exercises though.

Pull ups are generally tough for guys with long arms and for guys that weigh 200lbs+. Not one of the exercises that they are well known for. I bet at school if you were tall you could throw well though. Long levers :).

My mate at 266lbs (6'3) can do 10 proper pull ups. Thats dam impressive considering he weighs that much!

Dead on, I just did 1 and then got close to another before I lost my grip (I do pullups/chinups using a 2*4 in a door frame). I find it harder to get a good grip and balanced (same with one handed pushups, I can never get in a good position).

If you have your feet spread apart and do it 'rocky style' where you dip your shoulder but don't move your arm much that is easier then doing it the 'hard way'. The hard way being legs parallel like you would do a normal push up. One arm on the floor and other to your side or behind your back. You lower yourself using one arm, keep body level as possible and then push back up. Takes a of strength in that arm to do it though.

Fafter pull ups are BAD ASS. I've seen a few guys do pull ups PINCHING on to 2*4! Not hooking on to them but pinching on to the dam 2*4 bits! Crazy grip strength

i'm gonna have to see 60 pullups in one setting on YouTube before i can belive that. Is this with proper form and full range of motion?
