Home wiring question

I've been banging my head on my table over this one for a while.. I'm rewiring my apartment(coax and ethernet) right now because I never did a clean install - the wires were just hanging by little hooks and such.. Now I'm running the wires along the molding on my ceiling and through walls for a neater look.. The only problem is that I can't find those little wire caps that go into the wall and allow you to feed wires into them.. I went to home depot but can't find them because I don't know what they're called (I've tried to describe them to the electric department people and they're cluelesS).. I tried looking at their website but I can't find it their either.. They're little white plastic plug type things that you push into the whole in the wall and feed the wires through.. My local cable co. uses them but I can't seem to find them anywhere.. Thanks for any help!

godmare is right and DrPizza is right, but backward.

Can't you run through the basement, crawl space or attic?

Edit: I think Home Depot carries data/com wall plates and what-not.

You mean a plastic feedthrough? They also call them bulkheads sometimes. You can get them out of Digikey or Grainger. You might be able to persuade the phone company to give/sell you a few.

A grommet is a rubber O ring dealy, used to keep wires from chaffing in a hole, like sheet metal. A feedthrough goes through drywall and looks like a plastic tube with flanges on each side.

Yes, grommets.

Plus get the wire guide stuff... Like covers for the wires that have stickytape on the back to stick to the wall. They're white and match the wall nicely for those places you can't hide the wire in the wall or behind moulding.

Thanks guys.. I can't do a TOTALLY clean install because we rent the apartment and I don't want to break open the walls... I figure a hole/wires along the molding can be easily removed, filled and painted.. The term grommet isn't listed on homedepot.com.. Stilling looking . Thanks for the leads!

Cable grommets won't be found at HD. I don't see their communications wall plates listed either, but I'm pretty sure I saw them there. They definitely have the wire too!
