Anyone have any positive recommendations? I've looked all over online and it seems people either completely love them or hate them.

Thanks

That is a very personal decision -- you're going to get the same love vs. hate here. Will it help you sleep better at night?

I'd get one, but then I have zero DIY skills. Every time I try to fix something, I tend to make it worse :(

Home warranty? You mean like home repair "insurance"? Yeah no, don't do it brah.

Just like anything else, you have a deductible, co-pay, etc... at the end of the day - you simply will pay more than if you...

1) Do it yourself. You can find a YouTube on anything from car repair, to putting in hardwood floors, to fixing a toilet.

2) Pay as normal. You can judge for yourself if pricing is within reason or not. You don't have to worry about a deductible or co-pay. Simply get an assessment or two for any major home repairs/installations to find the best price and judge for yourself.

Insurance is business. If it wasn't a profit they wouldn't do it. Insurance makes sense in certain cases such as cars - when you have people that live nickel and dime and can't afford a new car if it's totaled tomorrow. Same goes for home insurance. But if you have money on-hand for emergencies, insurance is not the best option in life. It's a never ending cycle of throwing money into the trash.

I had one for 3 years, the first year came with the NEW house. I have also done some extensive research on this subject, but I'm feeling lazy tonight so I will answer with no, NO, nope, don't do it, no, no, nono, hell no!
It has also been proven that some sites with rave reviews, (like 90% positive), were FAKE!!! 900 of the 950 reviewers were from the company employees posting anonymously , LOL.
