home theatre speakers

i'm looking for some home theatre speakers/setup for my dvd player/tv. can you use logitech's z560 computer speakers for that?

I'd be interested in knowing this too. I just got back from doing a restore and I was planning on coming here and asking the same question.
I've got my tv/vcr/dvd player going into my Radeon tuner and the audio coming out my Altec Lansing 5 piece surround sound. I was wondering about getting some better speakers to improve the sound.

I assumed TranceNation was talking about using a receiver.
In your case, you'd need a 5.1 soundcard and speakers.

I'm sure you could use the 560's for the speakers, but since I don't own a set, I'm not quite sure of what inputs they have. Depending on that, you might need a receiver/pro to process the signal and feed it to the speakers.

USe computer speakers for home theater speakers ?

If you lived in a barbie house, I guess you could...

j/k 😉

Your best bet would be to use your computer as a DVD player
and have a 5.1 sound card as mentioned.

Most standalone DVD players require a receiver for digital decoding.

Don't think you can hook up computer speaker to a receiver.

You could but I don't think you'd want to.
