Anandtech is a great spot for computer/software/etc questions. Is there any forum out there that people would recommend for home audio and video? Gotta upgrade my old components for when my family room is done in the basement.

Well YoYo....

I have a really old (Probably early 90's) Dolby Pro-Logic Surround Sound Receiver from Sony which did good for back then. I used it up until we moved in 2000. Probably in 98 I bought some Klipsch ($1100 worth) bookshelfs, middle and sub for it and they rock, couldn't make them distort. 4 speakers for Fronts and Rears, 1 center and 1 sub.

Mainly I am looking for something that will be for movies mostly, and some music. A new TV will be in order as well. But mainly at this point, I wanted a place stop in at and check out for a while, since it will probably be 1 yr before I really start looking heavily.

What's your price range? Are you expecting to make the jump to an HD disc format? What about upgrading your current DVD player? Does Klipsch still make the speakers that you own?

Oh I see :D

You still keeping the Klipsch or are you replacing everything?

I'm sure with a year to research you'll have plenty of time to figure out the current state of thing

I really don't have a budget planned at this point, being a year away.

Yep, plan on keeping the Klipsch speakers, wife would have my *** if I ditched them, they were only a couple years old when we moved.

I'm going the DIY route.

There is DIYaudio.com, and no other.

(IMHO, Klipsch is good stuff. I just can't afford it.)
