Yes it is, they make adapters that take a line out cable and turn it into the red an white audio connection. You can get them alot of places, I got mine at a local radioshack.

OK, first things first... Exactly which "home theater system" did you buy, and exactly what type of PC do you have? Video card? Motherboard? etc...

If you have it, for audio only, I'd suggest using an optical line out from the PC...

what soundcard do you have? does your motherboard also have audio output? One or the other should have an optical output... if so, definitely use that.

Be careful though. If you have the video and audio going to two different destinations -- TV (1) and "Home Theater system" (2) -- they may not play in sync. You may need to figure out a way to fix an audio or video delay.

you should be OK though...

Are you absolutely sure you don't also have onboard sound as part of the motherboard?

If that card is all you have, I think you're going to have a really hard time getting any decent sound through your new home theater... Those outputs you have are meant to go directly to 7.1 PC speakers... which you don't have.

You may think about investing in another soundcard with optical output, like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/TURTLE-B...go-Sound/dp/B0009MFQ4Y

Go for that Turtle Beach card with the TOSLINK cable combo for $60.47... you have to realize, when you start hooking PC's up to real sound systems, the interfaces are not cheap. That $60.47 is the best deal I could find for you.

Good luck!

Yes, that nice card will certainly work, but...

1) Be sure that you have the required PCI Express 1X slot on your motherboard for the card to fit into.

2) Be sure to download the latest drivers from Creative's website for XP and Vista. ***DO NOT USE THE CD THAT COMES WITH THE CARD!!! Do the following instead:
-- Click HERE to get to the download page for the driver pack
-- Click "AGREE" at the bottom of the page
-- Save the file somewhere you can remember
-- run the downloaded file by double-clicking on it
-- follow the instructions and use common sense to answer the questions. If you get stuck, come back here and ask for help!

3) You also need to buy an optical TOSLINK cable, like the one 6 foot long cable seen HERE.

4) Connect the cable to the optical Line Out port on the card and to the optical Line In port on your Home Theater system.

5) Make sure Windows is configured to output digital audio over optical (in the Control Panel under Sound); and you'll need to configure whatever software you're using to output properly as well. (MP3 software should default to Stereo output, but DVD software will need to be set to DTS or Dolby Digital, etc).

Let us know how it works out. Good luck!

you can get 2 channel left and right out of your computer and into your stereo. a new sound card can't change that. if you're getting that soundblaster card, you can still enjoy it by using one of these.

by the way, the soundcard you linked to fits in a pci-express slot. do you have a pci-express slot? take a look at this. it's a comparison of 4 x-fi cards, 2 pci and 2 pci-express. the price range is $55 to $95. creative doesn't sell a pci card with optical connections. in my opinion, if you have a pci-express slot the best of the bunch is the one for $60.

Amazon, Newegg, MacMall, Circuit City, and others all show the HT-Z310 as having an "optical input." I wonder if Samsung got it wrong on their own site...

Without an optical Line In on the receiver, that changes everything... :(

Multiple amazon user reviews say it has an optical input.
