Current hardware to work with (2 bedroom duplex):
Velodyne VX-10 sub
Velodyne CHT 5 speaker set
Onkyo SR502 receiver
Dish Network 811 HD receiver
Compooter with a 6800NU and Hauppague MCE tv card
Olevia 30" LCD
Logitech Z560s
Panasonic 53x54 HDTV (53")
Xbox
Gamecube
Dreamcast
Norcent 301 DVD player (non progressive scan)
What the problem basically comes down to is this:
I've decided to use the 30" LCD as my computer monitor in a bedroom, computer with Z560s
53" Panasonic HDTV as the tv in the den, with all the other equipment
Now I'm not sure if I want to drop the $1000 on the LCD (already have it, but still in the box) and then $1300 on the TV this Friday. I have been considering the projector thing for a long time, just never got around to doing it. Certainly cheaper...
But if I do a projector, would I want to use that for my computer as well, and move my computer to the den? Then could use the Z560s instead of the 5.1 system I have.
I dunno if a projector would even work, may not sit far enough back to focus. The room is roughly 10.5x15.5 And still haven't figured out how to mount the rear speakers, since the couch is probably going to go up against the wall.
So do teh projector and cut out a rear-projection TV and computer monitor? Saves $2000. Or just get the big tv and 30" lcd and be done wif it?
