I have HDMI(TV-Out)->DVI (PC-Input, my video card) from my video card into my HDTV... it looks wonderful!

Now I want to record TV....

I recently bought a Hauppauge PVR250, is that my best bet for getting best quality TV into my PC (Svideo out on cable, Svideo in on the PVR), or should I return that and buy a tuner with HDMI/DVI input (if they do exist?) My cable box has a DVI output... check the link below.

What is my best bet??

Is that a SA 3250HD cable box? If so, does it have firewire? You can record over firewire:

I did it with mine through MCE for a while, but it was buggy, I went back to my PVR150. If you really want to try it and that doesn't have FW, Time Warner is required to give you a firewire-enabled box as per FCC regulations. It will be a pain in the ass, they won't know what you are talking about, or pretend not to and blow you off. (took me over a month to get one), but you can get one.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I just remembered why I stopped using the FW recording...TWC has enabled encryption on most (if not all) digital channels, so I couldn't record. :| Nevermind my post.

I use the PVR 350 card for my caps and it works very well. There are presently no affordable cards that take HDMI/Component input. There are some people here that manage to cap in HD but I would guess they are using an HD tuner card to do the caps.

If you can, wait until ATi's 650 based tuner cards get to market. Anandtech just did an article about them recently, so you should read up and see if its what you'd want.
