Home Theater Problem

My HT is moving so much air I am generating mini hurricanes that are sucking pictures off the walls. The carpet in the center of the room is becoming bare. Right now I am cranking Peter Frampton and my lights are dimming and my wife is on the back porch using the phone (too loud in the house). How do I fix this?

Drop the wife and nail her sister.

I'm sorry. In your case, drop the wife and nail her brother.

Haha this happens no less than a week with no speakers. 😛

Pictures should not be hung with wires. If you have plasterboard use good anchors and no less than one number 10 panhead per 30 cm of frame length. Make sure the picture is level!

Run amplifiers on 240VAC if possible and use dedicated circuits for them. Better yet have utility company install dedicated 50 kVA pole pig and install 200A panel (or two) just for your setup.

Replace shag carpets with low cut commercial grade and glue directly to subfloor or concrete. Apply liberal amounts of adhesive and ventilate living space accordingly during cure time where high VOC release occurs to avoid killing too many brain cells.

Finally, to avoid too much leakage in the midrange affecting the use of telephony devices in other parts of the dwelling, installation of Sonex is required. A fully padded room is ideal. This makes it safer too if you decide to roll around in the room. 🙂

Luckly, my wife keeps me in a padded room.
