Home Theater PC

Greetings,

I am in the planning phase of building a Home Theater PC and am looking for some recommendations on what Video cards would be good for such a system. The graphic needs of the system will be mainly Video playback and compression and the system will only be hooked up to a HD wide-screen projection TV with composite, S-video, and DVI inputs. I would like to have a DVI or S-video option on the video card.

If needed I would use 2 video cards also.

Thanks in advance.

I just bought a 6600gt for my HTPC. The new Nvidia decoders look great on a Geforce6 card with Purevideo. Plus the card has plenty of horsepower to do VMR rendering at HDTV resolutions.

yeah, the 6600 gt would be the best method to go with Purevideo and all, but if you want to save some $$$, i went with a radeon 9550 and I use filters along with zoomplayer, goto http://www.htpcnews.com for any help building and setting up.

Thanks guys for the reponse. I had another question reguarding video. What would you recommend for handling input signals for recording, don't need a tuner card, just something that has a couple inputs preferablly S-video.

Thanks
