Home Theater Gaming

Is the inclusion of Dolby Digital Live on 9xx series Intel boards enough of a reason to go Intel over AMD? I'm starting to think that it may be because I have thousands of $$$ in home theater equipment that I cannot utilize when playing PC games. Has anyone used DD Live? I have seen the review on Tom's and now understand why everyone loved Soundstorm.

just get a good sound card, and get a headphone to rca jack conversion, then run into your amp/pre processor.

No, you can get 5.1 surround gaming from most soundcards, using 6 analog channels like for a DVD-Audio deck. Most receivers have at least one 6-channel analog in, higher-priced ones often have 2.

Does it appear that DD Live will appear on soundcards in the near future? I would like to use a digital connection to my pre/pro so that I can use some of my digital post-processing and bass management.

Buy and audigy 4 pro or audigy 2zs plat pro, or a revo 7.1. They are all great cards, I have the 2nd one and it has digital out and plenty of stuff I can use with my home theatre stuff.
