Home server NAS/Streamer

Hi There,
I am looking for a solution to connect some kind of storage device to my home router so that it can be like a home server that all computers in the network (wired and wi-fi) could use its files OTA (especially HD vids).
I am going to buy 4 2-3GB HDD's.
It is really important that i could watch FHD videos with no jittering over wi-fi...
I also want something that i could connect to my TV and stream my contents directly without a computer (although this is less important).
What kind of solution do you recommend?

Are you talking about a Blu-ray rip uncompressed?

Are you looking for something to build yourself and install your own OS on? Or are you looking for a more prepackaged appliance?

I've owned and used one of the original WD TV Live and it worked pretty well. The newest versions even have built in wifi. Most standalone players can stream different internet services but none others seem to support the standard windows network shares like WD. Just make sure whatever you want to share doesn't require user login to access. The WD box will work with windows shares that have public read. I don't think they support any kind of user logins trying to access shares.
