1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Home server running Opensolaris or *BSD with ZFS and maybe RAIDZ.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

No specific budget is set, but cheaper is better.

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

USA - newegg

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

Whatever works.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

I have a spare case, but looking for a suitable replacement.

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

Yup. I'm confident on my build, but would like any advice, suggestion, and feedback.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

I'll definitely try to unlock the Sempron, but no OCing though.

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?

This week.

So here's what I'm planning to get:

Sempron 145 + MSI 880GM-E41 AM3 AMD 880G $93
GeIL Value PLUS 4GB DDR3 1333 $60
Antec NEO ECO 400W $39 ($29 AR)
6x SAMSUNG Spinpoint F4 HD204UI 2TB $540
4x SATA cable $8.76
Total: $741 before tax, shipping, and rebate.

Not sure if 4GB is really necessary, but it's only $31 more than 2GB.
I'm still looking for a case. I've been considering the Antec 300 and P183. I really like how you can remove the air filters without opening the case on the P183, but it's a bit pricey at $155. I'm definitely leaning towards the 300 right now.

edit: I was already to hit checkout, but realized BF/CM is coming up really soon. Maybe I'll hold off for some uber slick deals....
