My wife is paranoid while I'm on travel for work and she can't sleep very well. We already have a home security system that came with the house but it is not monitored as of now. Basically, I just want to give her piece of mind and am wondering if it really matters what home security monitoring service we have? I am not really concerned about burglery (that's what insurance is for), but she doesn't want anyone entering the house at night.

This one looks kinda shady but is super cheap. I don't know if it's any good. Of course they auto renew every year, so you have to watch you back...

I guess I should call local places and check their rates as well.

The question "does it matter" implies you have a criteria against which to measure.

In your case, your criteria seems to be the peace of mind the monitoring affords your wife.

So, the answer to your question, in your case, appears to be, "if any monitoring company will give your wife the same peace of mind, then no, it doesn't matter."
