Home remodeling Q's.. Paint guns and carpet prices...

I am getting ready to repaint the inside of my new home and think it Will be much easier to do so with a paint gun instead of with rollers and brushes. My walls are huge and very tall. Has anyone here had experiences with any paint guns??? Any recommendations or suggestions??
Second, I am re-carpeting my front room with is about 15 X 18.. How much should I be looking to spend? Nothing to fancy needed, just some el cheapo carpet..
