What made you decide to live in the town/city you live in?

diversity, after going to college, I have realized that being raised in Albany and going to public school has made me that much better of a person. A lot of the people I have met in college aren't as well rounded? less understanding of others. money, race, sex, politics, ideas. everything...

Got the most home for the buck here within the maximum range of commute i was willing to go with.
In other words, I could afford a townhome here, The best I could do in any other town closer to work would be a condo.

Went to college here. Stayed here afterward.

nicest lot we could find at the time, not too far from the city, with a treeline out back. also, midpoint between hometown and work.

Where I live is a small town, cost of living is low and not much to offer (jobs, parks, etc.).

However, people are nice, my kids have circle of friends and basically you can leave your vehicle unlock and not worried about getting it stolen.

2nd reason, when we migrated here in the US 9 yrs. ago, my wife's agency (she's an RN) stationed her here. We still plan to move somewhere when my kids go to college. We just don't know where yet !

im not a home owner yet im still in college and not working full time and 22 years old. but alot of people around my age and that i gone to school with dont want to live in port huron,mi, there not much todo in this area. for us to find anything fun todo we either have to drive out to detriot or pontiac to get to all the good bars, clubs and casions. Or go over to sarnia,ontario to goto the clubs,bars and casinos over there. My town does have bars in it, but nothing that really aim at for people around my age. There not many good jobs in this area either.

when the b/f and I decided we would move in together, we started looking for a house where he makes money... NJ. My father's girlfriend of 15+ years was being treated for cancer, so I wanted to be closer to her to help her recover. We picked this house and paid for it in cash the day we got it.

she died three days after the closing. If she would have went three days before, I would not live in this horrible town.

Been 5yrs now and we are looking at PA.

I wanted to have my own business and there happened to be one for sale here. I bought it in 1977 and have lived here ever since.

I don't want to be living where I am doing the job that I'm doing, but I haven't been able to find a better job in the city that I want to live near.

I don't own a home yet, but I know where I will. Why have I picked that place? Because it's my favorite place in the world. I grew up there, I love it there, and I always want to go there. I will move back.

I grew up close to the area and both my wife and I were able to find good careers here after college. And now that we have a child, it's nice to have our daughter's grandparents in town.

The location is good. We're within 10 minutes of pretty much anything we could possibly need for day-to-day living. My commute isn't too hellish. And we were able to get a house in the area that is a good bit bigger than most new homes these days.

Good schools, 5 mile commute to work, low taxes, low cost of living, free parking, shade trees, close to shopping & freeways. You know?
