Well, while browsing though my BlackIce logs, I came accross a pair of odd entries; both from local @home proxies(proxy1. and proxy2.). Seeing as how they were something I never saw before, I had BlackIce give me the port number being scanned, and as you guessed, it was port 6969.:Q What worries me is that I wasn't running Napster at the time, so it would seem like @home is at least locally scanning for Napster users.:( Someone please tell me I'm just being paranoid here...:|

no... you're just a lot smarter than 95% of at home users. That wouldn't surprise me a bit.

btw, you're probably smarter than 99.9% of them, but I don't want to hurt anyones feelings ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't Napster use port 6699? That's what it's set to on my computer, and is also the port that the listing on BlackICE's webpage lists as being the one Napster uses. So it sounds to me that you're just being paranoid about it.
