Home Networking...What do I need?

Hey people...I recently got a new cable modem and would like to share the joy that is broadband with the rest of my family.

The house in question is a small (wood) house and I thought that a wireless network would be perfect since I am not too keen on making holes in my house and buying like 50ft of CAT5.

So what do I need to share my connection?

Do I need a router? Or just two wireless NICS, or what?

Thanks for your help ppl!

I would buy a router, nothing special.
And I would forget wireless, seems like you need to spend a ton to get any good performance.

you can use two wireless nics but i would suggest a wireless access point hooked up to the computer with the broadband connection and then have wireless nics in the other computers in the house accessing the access point for the shared connection.

...and try to put the modem with the wireless access point as centrally located in the house as possible. (Mine's off to one side of the house and it does matter.)
