Home networking ICS question

I've got 2 computers - one simple one on 24/7 serving as the gateway to the 'net, and the other connected to it. The gateway has ICS installed and all the recommended protocols (NetBEUI, IPX/SPX, TCP/IP).

2 questions:
1) Any suggestions on how to go about installing a firewall on the computer with the connection? When I used a 1-computer setup, I left the settings to prompt me each time an unknown connection is initiated - this would no longer be a viable long-term solution since I only have 1 keyboard/mouse/monitor and switching back and forth between computers is annoying. Also, would it (Norton Internet Security firewall, or any of them) block the NetBEUI connection that ICS uses, thinking it's a hacker trying to exploit that vulnerability? I could go on with this question, but I'd rather hear any experiences/suggestions that you people have had.

2) Both computers have file sharing on, and a few folders shared (password protected, of cource). Is there any way to restrict what computers can access it (i.e. make sure only the 2 computers in the network can, not anyone on the internet)?

Any help, suggestions, or any other security concerns for me to consider would be greatly appreciated.

Unbind Client for MS Networks and file sharing from tcp/ip and use Netbeui for the LAN. Your client then needs no firewall protection - it has a private IP address and is protected by the server. The firewall needs only to protect the server, and firewall won't affect Netbeui.

Do what obenton said, it will make your client PCs much more secure... you can get detailed instructions on how to do this at the Network Bondage section of Shields Up
