I have a network at home. Linksys router connected to cable modem, this gives me the internet for my 2 wired computers.

Now i have uplinked the linsys to a Netgear wireless router(DHCP turned off) and have 4 other wireless computers on this.

Is there a way that i can share the internet access to all computers but "hide" the wired ones and possiably some of the wireless ones to other computers on the network(wirelessly), ie. see diagram

Wired computers
wireComp1
wireComp2

Wireless computers
wLessComp3
wLessComp4
wLessComp5
wLessComp6

I want all computers(1-6) to share the connection, but have wLessComp5 and wLessComp6 to not be able to access computers 1-4.

Static routes with computers 1-4 on a different subnet a solution???

THanks,
bob

Some of the more "robust" wireless devices allow you to disable bridging between wired and wireless devices.

They are pricey and not very common. I purchased a Netgear FWAG114 for this explicit purpose. Plus it allowed me to set up rules like a true firewall should for security purposes.

It was about $350 though.

How?

He's talking permissions on each PC. Are they all on Win2k or WinXP? If so, just set up each machine so that it requires you to log in to the PC. If you don't want other people to be able to access the device, simply don't set them up as a user on the other PC's.

If you have access to the laptop 5 & 6. Modified their host / lmhost file to redirect it to a loopback address.
