Home network signal weak other end of home

So I have a wireless router in one end of the house where my PC resides. My sons PC's are in their bedrooms the other end of the home. I purchased my son a wireless usb adapter and he says the signal is 2 bars and occasionally 1 bar and very slow.

I want to get something to boost the signal strength so both my boys get at least 3 or 4 bars connection. Are there any wireless boosters that all I need to do is plug into an outlet?

Maybe try moving the access point?
