Home Network Problems... Please Help

Background Info:

I have my home networked with Cat 5E cabling and I am using an SMC 16-port 10/100 switch.

Linux Box:
Dual Celeron 550
256mb Ram
45 GB WD
(2) Linksys LNE100TX NICs using Tulip drivers
OS - Mandrake 7.2

Other Computers:
Linksys LNE100TX NIC
OS - Windows ME

My Linux Box is serving as a File server & Domain server as well as a router for my internet connection.

The Problem:

I can log on to my domain and I can see everything on my server, but when I go to transfer files it is hellishly slow.
It takes me about an hour to transfer a 700mb file.

I just switched my server from Win2000 Server to Linux about 3 months ago. When I was running Win2000 Server, that same 700mb file would take just under 3 minutes to transfer. I am still using the exact same hardware setup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
