Home network problems (Mac and PC)

Well, my problem is centered around a Mac system, but figured I'd ask on this forum since you folks usually are more helpful than any other forums.

I have a Mac mini with built in wifi, which I know is working, because I have an Airport Express with Airtunes and my printer hooked up. I've now tried with a PC and with a Powerbook to use the internet, but can't get it to work. I can connect to the network with both, and at least with the Powerbook I was able to do file sharing, etc. But with both, when I try to go online, it just says that there is no internet connection. The PC said something about a DNS problem.

So, what would be preventing me from getting on the internet even if I'm on the network? The mini is hardwired to a cable modem. The mini and Powerbook are OS 10.5.8 and 10.5.

Also, I think I might have screwed up the PC, because now that my wife is trying to use at a public wifi network, where we have had no problem before, it says no internet, even though she found an unsecured network no problem. What can I tell her to do (over the phone) to reset the network settings? The PC has Vista, and I think both IE and Firefox.

Thanks for any help!

Is the mac mini setup as a Internet sharing device?

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8156.html

Sounds like your PC and powerbook are not getting the right DNS to get out to the Internet.

Holy crap, that did it! I never realized that I had to turn on internet sharing. I searched the apple site for every combo of terms I could think of, but didn't find that page. Thanks!

Oh, and I've been off the site for a while, what's with the "imported_" before my name? Was there a migration? Have to find how to remove that, it makes me look totally lame.
