Home Network Help Plz!!!

Ok so I set up a home private network with my linksys routers and 2 computers. One pc is running vista home premium 32 bit, the other is running vista ultimate 64 bit.

The network detects the other computers, I can double click into them and here is where the problem lies.

Let's say I try and access drive C: on one computer, it gives me this message:

Windows cannot access \\fatfat-pc\c

Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose.

Details: Error code: 0x80070005
Access is denied.


When I click diagnose here is what it tells me:

"c" is available but the user account that you are logged on with was denied access

Windows cannot further diagnose the problm because network diagnostics does not know the user name and password that is required to connect to the shared folder




I DONT HAVE A PASSWORD SETUP!!! WHAT is it doing lol??


Also random fact, I can access a folder on my network called Public without a problem, but when I try and go into my main hard drives, from either PC, it does not let me, and same message for both.

i havent used vista much but id imagine that if its shared but wants a username and password...youre gonna have to change a share permission or input a username and password. did try using an account already on the machines to access things?

For security reasons Vista would Not let you access C: and some system folders.

You can set access to public folders and other folders thta you can generate.

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.
