Home Network and Work Network

Just a quick question that I have never needed to know but was asked today. I have a user that has a WindowsXP pro laptop that he uses here in our domain, but then when he takes it home he has to change all his settings to get on his home network, then change them back to get back on ours. Is there a way in XP to have 2 networks set up and then choose between them? I thought I read about something like this a long time ago but could not find any info. (only did a quick google) Anyway if anyone knows a quick and easy solution that would be great. Thanks.

Pretty easy to do 🙂
Right click My Network Places/Properties/New Connection Wizard/Setup Home or Small Business network (existing)/ Select this computer connects thru a residential gateway (router)/Let me choose the connections/select installed network adaptor.

those steps should solve the connection issue 🙂
 
Depends on how complex and secure your network is at work.

In my office if I set my laptop to function on my home network I will have to have a tech come and reset the network on my laptop the next day in the office.

If he is just trying to gain internet access, etc. Just set the machine to auto configure (which is probubly already is). This is all I need to function at work properly and still have access to the internet, etc at home.
