Bread machine = win. :)
My grandfather gave me his, he didn't use it much. It needs a little help to start off, as some of the dry ingredients often get stuck where the mixing paddle can't reach. But it does a damn fine job, and my lazy ass gets to enjoy its hard work. Cinnamon raisin bread = excellent. :)

One of teh best aromas in the world. Right up there with diesel exhaust, and grilling meat.

So I'm looking at breadmakers now (thanks to this thread). Would you actually save money in the long run?

Milton's is $4 from Costco. LaBrea also $4 from Costco.

Or is "cost savings" not a good reason to buy a breadmaker?

Fresh Bread is definitely for the win!

I too married a baker. She in-fact uses your "topic summary" line as her corporate sig, minus the leet speak.

I started out using a bread maker, and I graduated to doing it by hand.

I bake two loaves every Tuesday and Thursday Night. Very relaxing and besides the time you wait for the dough to rise, it doesn't take all that long to do. It's even easier if you have a stand mixer (which I'll get eventually).
