home-invading crickets problem

They're about an inch long and brown/black - looks like a cockroach, except they make noise. :|

I've killed 3 today alone. My trusty RAID did the job in seconds. Then a vacuum is applied. Quick work, but annoying. I've had this problem all summer and according to this, it's common.

Anyone else have this problem ? I had been ok the last few summers. 😕

Lol...In San Marcos, Tx, we had cricket fest during fall and again in spring. Now imagine not just a few thousand of these little buggers around the lites, but a few billion. It would literally rain crickets at night. Crickets would get in the air conditioners and get chopped up and you could hear them in the vents. Basically, they got everywhere....

Then came the plagues of beetles to clean up and they frickin hurt when they bite.

Yeah, here in north TX, we get a different bug-fest every year. This year was crickets, with a plague of skeeters for a couple weeks. Couple years ago, it was moths and carrion beetles, and 5 years ago it was grasshoppers (let me tell you just how much fun it is to be doing 70mph down the highway, and suddenly have one of those bouncing around in the cab of your truck!!).

A few crickets is what you're dealing with? PITA, but nothing like the dozen that would try to get in every time I'd open the door earlier this summer. Talk about having to do a "texas 2 step"!! hehehe

as a suburbanite i feel your pain rh71, as i suffer from crickets invading my den (where the computers in my house live)

anyone know how to get rid of them?
