Do AT&T@home care if I set up my router when install guy sets up my cable???
Or should I play it safe and NOT tell them during the installation?

They wont care, probably not a good idea to ask him to install it, but what you do with it after they leave is your business. If you ask them how to get more PCs installed on the same connection, they will try to sell you multiple IP addresses, which is an unnecessary expense, I've been running my router for the last 6 months without a glitch. Hope this helps,

When the RR guys came to set up my cable, I inquired about multiple connections and they were super cool and said I could buy more IP's or just set it up myself (wink, wink). When my boss got cable earlier this month, the cable company (same company as mine) said that he HAD TO HAVE a router to share an internet connection. I poo poo'ed that and told him he could get by with just a 2nd NIC and a cross-over cable if he only wanted access for 2 comps.

I use a hub myself, but a router wouldn't be that much different.
