There's a lot of knowledgable people here, so I figured this place would be as good as any to ask a home appliance question...
For some reason, my air conditioner unit will not shut off at the exact temperature I set. It is usually around 5 degrees (sometimes more) off of what I set on the thermostat and what the ts is displaying as the 'real' current temperature in the house. I have a couple of questions about this...
1) Is the temperature taken at the location of the thermostat?
2) Is it better to determine just how much variance there is and work with that in mind when setting the temp, or should I install a new thermostat?
3) How difficult is it to install a thermostat, or is this something that I would probably have to call someone to do for me?
Thanks.
