Thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for your input. I have my VCR audio hooked through my home stereo and I just bought a DVD player. My question is can I just use a couple of RCS Wyes and hook the DVD audio OUT to the same connections on the stereo receiver or will I need a switch? I will never have both units powered up at the same time. Ideas?

assuming that you don't have the space for two different input devices, you're going to need a switch. Kmart (as well as any other electronics store) carries an AV switch for ~$20 made by Philps/magnavox.

you could probably get away with it, but i would make sure that you never have both devices doing stuff it might f-up your stereo.

if you get an auto-sensing switch, that won't be a problem, but at $20-30, most switches are manual, and it won't be a problem anyway.

Thanks for your input guys. I think for today I'll just hook it up with the wyes and then start looking for an auto sensing switch...thanks again.
