Home design software recommendations?

I've been looking a the offerings from Punch! and Chief/better homes n gardens.

I'm leaning towards Better Homes and Gardens Home Designer Pro 7.0 or non pro versions. They are ~$400 and ~$150 respectively. I prefer the renderings when compared to punch! What do you guys think?

Any other software I should look at?

There have been a few threads on this subject over the past 2-3 years.

Try to use the search functions (now that it works) on the archives.

I don't know if its as sophisticated as Punch! but I used google sketchup, its free and fairly powerful once you get the hang of it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Turns out I have access to all the latest Autodesk software through my work. Looks like I'll be spending some extra time at the office. 😀
