Home Depot/Lowes Question

Say I wanted to build a small piece of furniture, would Lowes/HD cut the wood for me or would I have to buy several pieces and cut them to the length/width I need?

I never tried but I know they cut some things. Don't know the charge though. Probably just want to call and ask.

They usually do, I think lowe's is better in that regard though. It depends a lot on who you get helping you. A couple of months ago I was at home depot and tried to get a rip cut done on some molding and the guy told me they're not allowed to do that. I went in about a month later and got some more and a different guy rip cut it for me with no problem.

The one time I had it done at Lowes the first two cuts were free. Quarter a cut after that. This was on some plywood. They won't guarantee exact dimensions (within 1/4" if I recall)

Yeah, I was gonna say there's no way it'll be accurate enough for furniture making.

One cut is free, after that they charge.

Unless you get some worker that is really cool.

**EDIT**
Oh yeah and they don't do cross cuts just straight. Something about a worker losing a finger and suing. 😉
