I can recommend this set - had one before it was stolen from my garage. My local HD had it for $99 yesterday. Did this just go on sale today? Anyone else find this?

$99 online right now. Was it $49 earlier? While I doubt it is heavy duty, probably good for household chores.

Bought one this pm. Had stack of about 10 marked with big pink $49 sign over original $99 sign. I have a 7.2v Ryobi I've used for ~4 years. Batteries still charge and works very well for 7.2v.

quick question, is the charger a smart charger? i have a black and decker set and the battery charger doesn't turn off when battery is full.

Damn. I already have the drill\flashlight set. Anyone thing this is worth it? Even just for the batteries? I'd rather just buy a cheap circular saw if I can't justify this.

How long is this deal supposed to last? I was just looking for a drill. I'd definitely go for this one.

The box description says it's a 1 hr. diagnostic charger, whatever that means.

Is this deal (50% off 99 ) good anywhere else ? My 15 year old seldomly used Makita 9.6 drill set batteries won't hold muck of charge and this seems like a better alterntive to buying the batteries .

I can see a Home Depot across the street from my new office. Will report back later to see if the deal is valid there.

This is more than HOT.

I bought the drill and circular saw set with two batteries and 1 hour charger for $100 a couple of years ago. It is very good quality, maybe not HD construction but more than adequate for any DIY projects, even large ones. It is definitely head an shoulders above any Black & Decker junk.

In my opinion, the 14.4V drills are about perfect. Next real step up is the 18v drills which weigh quite abit more. The 14.4v have plenty of torque to get any reasonable drilling job done...just will not last as long as an 18v. Unless you are doing this for a living, believe me, this is all the drill you will ever need.

Re the circular saw, it is OK for trim work and an occasional 2x4. But if you have have a lot of sawing work to do...there is no substitute for a corded power saw.

Highly recommended.

Must be regional deal, not available in Lake Mary, FL. Price was $99. Thank God, they didn't have it... I would have surely plopped down the plastic and bought one!!!

Still at $49, worth buying for the batteries alone...

Luckily, I had a $50 GC I received for Xmas from a friend so after tax, I was only $2.23 lighter in the wallet.

Deal not available in Denver- bummer. As stated above, the batteries alone are worth the $50. Thanks for the hot deal anyway!!

I called my local Home Depot and they said they'll price match their own stores, but I need to have a store # (location and phone # would help too) so they can call and confirm. Any help?
