I subscribe to Time Warner Cable. They have installed a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250 HDC. Get a great picture.

Routinely I record a TV show to a DVR when I am away from home. To schedule a program on the DVR an infared mouse communicates from the DVR to the cable box to change the channel.

My problem is the DVR set up menu asks for a cable box code. No one at Time Warner seems to know this code . Like I am the first guy to ask this question. Any hints as to where I can look this number up.

Next problem, if I record a favorte program on a regular TV channel (like the evening news) I can watch it, but I can not burn a copy on to a CD. I get a message that I can not burn this to a disc. Anyway to correc this.

Last problem, if I go to In Demand and get a pay for view movie, it will not record at all for future play back. It will not record to the hard disc of the DVR. Only get white space, no sounds.

Help me out guys

Thanks Nick

The Scientif Atlantic Explorer 4250 HDC was manufactured in 2008
My DVR was purchased 2007. It is not in the booklet.

What about Time Warner changing the recording codes for DVR's.

My DVR now is saved to my hard disck in a new formation.

This new format prohibits copies

Has a hackercracked the code and foun found a way around this yet?

I can not even record the Food Netwrk or ESPN or CNBC
