Home-built Segway!!

i saw a security guard riding one of those (the real kind) in the Orlando Airport last week

I know highschool kids who have done that.

Their segway is faster than Dean Kamen's, but it has less range, and less safety features . . .

Anywho, they are kids involved in FIRST Robotics, and just use their spare parts to build em.

costs money, but less than a 'real' one.

There is no redundancy or backup system. It is not even robustly made. Loose wires literally dangle out the bottom. In the fairly likely event of the software crashing, a wire coming loose, a component failing, or the batteries running low, the wheels will lock and the entire kinetic energy of the system will be used to accelerate my head toward the ground.

Hehe

i think this is a pretty lame invention overall, i can see how some people mind have a need for it but overall it's pointless
if someone gave me one for free though i would mess around with it before i sold it! lol
