Home audio recommendations

I recently moved into a house for the first time (had always been in apartments), and one of the first things I did was buy a new 61" HDTV. I'm enjoying it very much, but want to take it a step further and get a home audio system for it as well. I don't need anything fancy - a simple 2.1 setup would work fine, I don't really want to bother with routing wires everywhere or installing speakers into the ceiling or walls. Any recommendations? The only thing I know so far is to stay away from Bose.

I only need to have it hooked up to my TV/DVD-player etc, if that's what you mean. Won't be using it for anything else. Or were you referring to something else?

That's what I meant.

Some people want to hook up to a computer, 7 game systems, their TV, DVD player, satellite TV, etc.

If you just have a couple sources, then any budget receiver should be able to handle the input types you need without the use of external switches etc.
