home audio question

if this has been answered elsewhere please let me know.

i just got a 32" lcd tv with component in and have many component devices and have a few questions. im using a home theater receiver with component switching.

most of my devices have a coaxial digital out and the cables have compnent video out and l/r audio. can i just use say the left audio cable and run that from digital out on the dvd player to digital in on my receiver? im assuming its ok as long as its a 75 ohm cable.

also, could i do the same thing in the future if i need more inputs with a video switcher like this?

sorry if that sounds confusing, but basically i need to know analog l/r cables can carry a digital coaxial signal.

thanks 🙂 i think ill order some component + l/r audio cables from triangle cables then. they only make ones with 5 rca cables, not 4. i figure i can peel one off if need be

The red/white cables are NOT 75 ohm cable.

The yellow cable (from a standard composite video + L/R audio cable) is.

Will it work? Probably.

Is it technically correct? No.

specifically, all of these should be 75 ohm cables correct? and the switcher above should work as long as the internal analog audio jacks are still 75 ohm? could i lose quality if they arent?

Yes,
The yellow cable should be a coax cable
Digital audio needs a coax cable
